How To Prepare Carrot Cake From Home

There are different ways of preparing cakes and in this post we are going to show you how to prepare carrot cake from home. You don't need to be a chef to prepare this kind of cake, in fact after learning to prepare this you might transform into a cake expert.

Carrot is a rich antioxidant and vitamin A hence helps you in fighting temporary illness and helps have strong eyes. It is the main ingredient in this cake so we will jump straight to its preparation.


2 cups grated carrots
11/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon of cinnamon
11/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoon baking powder
4 large eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
13/4 sifted wheat flour


First prepare the carrots by grating them. Sift the wheat flour three times and put it aside. Take a clean bowl and add the eggs and sugar. Mix the two ingredients until they mix thorough. Now add the vegetable oil and mix again. Keep the mix aside until ready to use.

Take another clean dry bowl and add the sifted wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and mix thorough.

Now take the bowl with the wheat mixture and slowly add it to the egg mixture while stirring. After finishing you'll get a light dough.

Now add your carrot to the light dough while continue mixing until they they fully combine.

You are now ready to bake. Take a sufuria and pour the mixture in it. Make sure you add some flour on the sufuria first to avoid the cake from sticking. 

Let the mixture heat in a 180C pre-heated oven for 45 minutes before removing it. If you dont have an oven you can use your local charcoal jiko.

For decoration cream, mix margarine, icing sugar, and lemon.
